Winter camping!!

While reading the many post about saving the campers for the winter, I was thinking yall northern people do just the oppsite of me. We do very little camping in the summer cause of the heat here.. We really don't start camping till now.. It's just too darn hot to enjoy the outdoors during the summer months..

As long as the roads are not snow covered I camp most weekends all year long. Not like most "northern" people.

We camp on and off all Winter depending on weather of course. The challenge is finding things for the kids to do as there are no activities going on in Winter and very few campers in the parks here.

Last year I parked my camper at a mom & pop camping resort!! not.. it was in their front yard!! I brought it there for a hunting trip for the next weekend.. We had an ice storm that came through on the thursday night. At 4:00am we tried to get out of the camper put there was over an inch of ice on it and the door was iced over.. Had to call a buddy that was there with us for him to come and get us out.. LOL

I have the RV winterized here in central PA but use it most of the winter just for day outings. Carry my port-a-potty and water back and forth.

I carry water each trip and I do sit on the toilet in the camper, BUT I do not open the flush valve. I use toilet bags. The bags are made for use in a non-flushing portable toilet. I put the bag in my toilet and lower the lid. I do use the outhouse when I am outside, but at night I use the toilet bags. They have a chemical in them that jells solid waste. http://www.amazon.com/Cleanwaste-WAG...ef=pd_sim_sg_1
