Winterize for one 30 degree night?

This is our first winter with the Greyhawk and our first cold snap is coming. Sunday night our temps in central North Carolina will dip to 30 degrees. Next week we are warming back up and we plan to take the Greyhawk out the following weekend.

Is it necessary to winterize the Greyhawk for temps that may drop to 30 for only a few hours? I have it plugged into a 30 amp shoreline here at the house. If I do not winterize it, would it provide sufficient protection to turn on the rooftop heat pump and set the thermostat to about 50 degrees?

Any advice is appreciated. I certainly do not want to burst any pipes. Thanks.

I personally would not worry about it. Putting the heat set to 50 is safe insurance as well. My sister is in Pegion Forge now in a RV..gospel singing events....it's snowing..and they are loving it.

As said the furnace will keep the interior pipes warm and the heat loss will keep the rest under the floor OK. When it gets a few degrees lower for a longer period the be aware. Enjoy your outings.

You shouldn't have any problems at all, especially if it's only for a few hours. If you have heat in the living area, the only concern is the plumbing under the floor and the tanks. If it would be a prolonged cold snap, then winterize. Last year I had my Eagle out in October when nighttime lows were in the mid 20's three consecutive nights with no problems because daytime highs were in the 60's. Takes a long time for things to cool down, or freeze, especially when daytime highs are well above freezing.

No worries. It will only be below freezing for a couple of hours, and if it only gets down to 30, not near enough time for enough water to lose heat and freeze. You may get frost on the widows, and that is about it.
If you are still concerned, turn your temp up a little more in the evening. Maybe park it so it gets the first morning sun to aid in warming it up sooner. Block the wind from blowing under the vehicle - the wind chill will increase the rate of cooling, getting things down to air temp faster.
But all that is a lot of work. My swimming pool isn't closed yet here in Minn., and the temp fell to 24 last night. Pipes, pumps, filters and all still were still totally liquid this morning. Some of the lines are smaller than any in an RV.

I live in North Texas and so far we have not seen anything close to a freeze. I was hopeful I could get a weekend trip in this cooler weather in mid November. There is always a chance, we could get a isolated morning freeze in the next two weeks. I was thinking if that happened, I could just turn om my heater an my water heater for the night and be safe. I have my trailer hooked up to a shoreline in my drive. Just hate to close up for the winter.

Be aware that heat pumps do not work well when the temperature drops to freezing so it may not provide your TT with heat once the outside temp drops to 35. I had the same problem about a month ago. One night the temps were going to 30. I plugged in a 1500 watt ceramic heater with a thermostat set at 60 and it stayed warm in the TT all night.

Good point. I will instead turn on the LP furnace and set the thermostat on low. Leaving an electric heater unattended overnight in the RV would make me nervous.

The water will not loose it's heat the second the temp hits 30.. everything should be OK as long as it is not 30 or lower for several days... remember first the water has to freeze then it has to freeze HARD to hurt the pipes or water heater..

With only a low of 30 these units retain enough heat from the day before to ever come close to freezing at night. On cold nights where I have not yet winterized I leave a small ceramic electric heater on low many times with no issue. I just open the low point drains. With a low of 30 and day time highs well above freezing I would not worry about a thing with my rig.
