Winterize residential Reefer

This is the first RV/Fiver that has the residential. While the rest of the winterizing process is pretty much straight forward, preparing reefer has me scratching my head a bit.
blowing out and adding RV antifreeze to the water dispenser should not be too much of an issue how do you get the water out an antifreeze in to the lines & valving of the ice maker.

My 2018 Pinnacle has the Whirlpool 21cu.ft. reefer
(WRS571CIDM01) with the complete ice make Assembly in the door.

According to the owners manual for my Pinnacle, rv antifreeze should not be run through the refrigerator. I know some people do it without issue. What has worked for me is to blow the system with air then turn off the water supply valves to the fridge. I then run antifreeze through the rest of the system. It will survive a NW Montana winter without any problems. If you do decide to run it through the refrigerator, you will probably want to remove the filter cartridge and you may have to purchase a separate filter bypass. I think getting all the antifreeze through the icmaker in the Spring will be somewhat tedious.

Good luck.

In our manual, it lists how to winterize 3 different brands of residential refrigerators. For all 3 it does describe how to get antifreeze into the water line for the ice maker. The tech that demoed our Bungalow back in May told us that there is a solenoid at the back of the fridge that fires when the ice maker needs water. He said to manually fire that solenoid to force it to call for water. As long as we supply it with anti-freeze instead, anti-freeze will be drawn into the ice maker.
