Winterizing Black Tank Rinser
I just winterized my trailer today. Calling for snow tonight and tomorrow, then a low of 12 degrees tomorrow night. I used two gallons of anti-freeze to get the job done. But I had to think a bit about the black tank rinser. I've never had one of these handy rinsers before.
I've had a connector for using air to blow out the water lines from the city water inlet, so I got that out and screwed it into the hose connection for the rinser. Worked like a champ! I could hear the sprayer rotating and saw a trickle of water come out the tank exhaust tube, so I'm pretty sure I'm good to go.
So just thought I'd pass this along, in case others may have forgotten this detail.

That's what I did for our 32 which has a black tank flush which is all new to us as well!
I did buy a pump for the pink juice to put some in after blowing the line out though. I have seen a kid that someone made an adapter to go from the outdoor shower to the bt flush. Just pump if through when winterizing the water lines.

Completely never thought about the rinse system. Is this something that really needs to be winterized? Going to do mine this am just in case. Have made it thru a couple really cold winters without a problem, but maybe a good precaution to add to the winterizing process.

I never thought about the black tank flush line freezing. I didn't do anything to it last year and had no problems. Anyone ever have it freeze?

I have read that some have had the black tank flush freeze. Having one is new to us this year.
Better to be safe than sorry I figure!

There's a vacuum breaker in the rinser tubing. That breaker is mounted on the shelf behind the hot water heater on my unit. From the breaker it's a straight shot to the rinser in the tank. If a failure happens it will be in the vacuum breaker fitting, since the pex is fairly rugged.

I didn't touch the black tank flusher the first winter but blew out the line this year. I suspect that gravity and evaporation clears the line if it hasn't been used in a while.

I use a five gallon bucket with a submersible pump and just pump some pink stuff through the line.
