All I do is blow the lines ,drain water heater, open LOW Point Drain Valves,& keep a little antifreeze in the traps.never fill the fresh water tank/pump.just every now & then does it get cold & stay there here in my part of Tx.

I drained one (the only one!) water line and blew out the sink drain trap & line. I carried some 'camper stuff' into the house and stored it away until spring.
It took me longer to rearrange the garage for its winter stay. I was amazed at the extra room I had in the garage when the pup was parked there. I had envisioned having a no-way-in-hell enough room scenario in my mind- but things were better than I thought!
(Editors note: An 8 ft camper in my head somehow looked like 20 feet when parked in the garage)

Winterized today after our Thanksgiving trip BUT we may still go out again in Dec. or Jan. I committed the unpardonable offense of leaving the outside shower turned on while drawing in the antifreeze. I soon realized the pump was taking too much before shutting off and lost about a quart of the pink stuff on the ground.

10,153 members and only 118 Winterize votes? Not enough poll options? Do most of our members live around the equator and therefore never heard of Winterizing? Fingers too tired to type? Any other possibilities? Boring? OK I`ll stop now.

If you guys consider blowing out the water lines, draining the hot water heater and dumping the antifreeze into the drain traps, I do it myself. Doesn't get terribly cold here, and I usually camp a few times in the winter.

It rarely gets that cold in Florida. But since we are now splitting our time between Florida and Tennessee, I may have to reconsider.

I am now de-winterized as I am in Yuma, but will have to winterize when I go home starting the 1st of March. I am getting to be an expert at this.

Ok, newbie questions...
1. How do you de-winterize?
2. If you go south to warmer weather & return to colder weather, should you winterize before leaving south?

1. Here`s a link explaining this
http://www.rverscorner.com/dewinterize.html
2. You may have to Winterize when returning to freezing weather to be safe. You will probably have to do it anyway after you get there.

After sifting through and analyzing all the data collected in this poll, it is clear that the great majority of JOF owners are do-it-yourselfers, at least as far as Winterizing goes. A big thank you to all who have participated in the poll. Coming soon- the long anticipated "Dewinterizing poll".

The Winterizing poll is officially closed, at least for this year. Time to start thinking about dewinterizing!
