winterizing the hybrid

So far so good. I have the RV antifreeze in the lines and traps. No problem. But I have a question. I think what I am looking at is the line which carries water from the fresh water tank to the pump. See pictures. Should I remove this line at the fresh water tank, stick it in the jug of antifreeze and then suck some antifreeze up to the pump? I have drained the fresh water tank.

Also, should I put antifreeze in the gray and black water tanks?

Thanks

I have never even thought about getting AF in that line on either of my TTs. Never had an issue, but maybe I'm lucky. It does freeze pretty solid here in northern IL.

You do not need to put AF in the black and gray tanks. Just empty them. You're worried about water expansion causing a rupture and the tanks and drain lines are all large and aren't really at risk of bursting.

If you run the pump dry, and drain the tank, you'll be fine.

As for the waste tanks. I drain them good before I winterizing. Bunch of antifreeze will get into them. Plus the volume is low and the surface area is large, so the ice does not have the strength to do any damage.

Thank you both. I think I will suck some antifreeze through that line. Just to be safe. Good to know about the black and grey tanks. I wasn't worried about the tanks as much as I was the valves.

It will make flushing the system more challenging in the spring, that is a huge tank to flush, and a small pipe to drain it. RV antifreeze does not have a good taste.

I wasn't planning on adding antifreeze to the FW tank. Just the line coming from the tank. But I decided to go with the advice you gave earlier and just run the pump dry to clear that line. The line seems to be dry now. Nothing but air at the faucet from the tank.
