Wireless Backup Cameras
So now that I have a "monster" (Seismic 3914 - 44ft) to back into a narrow drive with a 90-degree turn at the top, I want to buy a backup camera for it. I like the idea of not wiring the camper and using a wireless setup.
Has anyone here used one with good results ?
Thanks in advance !
Ken

I would like to add a backup camera as well wireless, but haven't come across any I particularly like with a reasonable price. I would like to add 2 cameras, one on the back and one on the front for hitching up. I would like to put them both on the trailer.

Well, it appears not a lot of folks have these, so instead of spending top dollar, I have ordered this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Rupse-Monitor-...+backup+camera
I'll try to remember to post the results I have with it, but lately, I have too many "senior" moments.

I went with the hard-wired camera system.
I purchased my set-up from EBay.
I bought a 7" Pyle monitor with wiring and license plate camera for under $65. Then, I bought 50' of A/V cable($12) and extra camera for $17(photo below) to mount on the upper rear of my Toy Hauler, over the ramp door.
I used a small section of aluminum angle to make a camera mount; and installed it over the center marker light.
When not towing my TH, I connect the A/V cable to the license plate camera on the rear of the truck. I use this camera to hitch up to any trailer.
I feed 12 volts to the camera activation wire(normally connected to the back-up lights). This way, the camera is always viewable). When I'm towing the TH, I can see what's behind me while on the road. This helps while making lane changes. I also use it to back into the camp site.

I have have the tadi brothers system on mine. The problem is the range isn't enough for the wireless. To make it work I had to mount the transmitter at the front of the 5er and run a rca cable from it to the camera then it works good. Still wireless between truck and trailer.

Thanks to all for the info. I did order one via Amazon. It comes with an extender antenna to move closer to the truck.
I was going to go with the high end one at Tadi Brothers but was scared off by all the bad reviews of both them (customer service complaints) and their equipment. I talked to the guy there on the phone and he said all their wireless systems would go 65 feet or more. That too, made me skeptical.
I can't wait to get it and see if it improves that dreadful task of backing it up a narrow 150ft drive, up hill, hill on the left side of drive and 90-degree turn at the top just before the garage. And when I was younger, I thought parallel parking was tough
Thanks Again.

I have a 15' and cant get mine to work. I decided to mount mine in the trailer license plate tag ring as I could draw power right from the adjoining light (and no additional drilling / hole-making rqd). To be clever, I stuffed the all the camera wire include transmitter antenna inside the light housing (which are LEDs) and I believe there is too much interference from the electronics, power and trailer mass. If I move the receiver outside the tow vehicle - I get reception. Word to the wise.....before you drill holes or mount anything permanently....test it thoroughly....keep the transmitter antennae clear of obstruction. Good luck
