Wiring Reversed?

I love out x17z but there's just one thing that REALLY bugs me. When you walk into the camper you have the display for the tank levels as well as two switch buttons in one box pictured below.




The switch on the left actually controls the outdoor light and the switch on the right controls the inside lights. It's not a big deal but it makes absolutely NO sense. Right? lol

I don't know if it makes sense or not but I labeled all of mine to know which switches is which.

same as our slx184 and the same as the switch by our front door at home

Same as on our 31FS. it is very simple to swap the wires around if it reeeealy bothers you that much. Me i'm too lazy and after a few months I got used to it.

In our trailer , after entering, the switches are to the right. The right switch which is closest to the outside wall is the outside light switch . Which makes sense to me.

However if the switches were to the left after entering, I would expect the left switch to be the outside light switch.

Is your trailer light switch wired different from this? It would be interesting to know if they follow this convention.

My entrance is at the rear of the trailer and the switches are up on the right as you enter. The switch closest to the outside control the indoor lights and the switch closest to the inside controls the outside lights. Makes no sense at all. I thought it was just a mistake but others seem to have the same setup.

Why on Earth would they do that? It's not a big deal, but it's common sense and practicality.

Maybe the trailer company thinks you will hit the first switch you feel on the wall, when coming in, which would be the inside trailer lights. Ours is the same way and it seems backwards to me also.

One more 2 cents worth - we have a so-called "scare" light on the passenger side at the front, and another on the driver side at the rear. And you guessed it - the switches are on a side wall as you enter, and the rear switch controls the front light, while the front switch controls the rear light. Definitely backwards, but labels over the switches take care of the problem.

BTW, where did the term "scare light" come from ? It's helpful at night, but I don't think anyone, person or animal, get a "scare" out of it.

Yup, our X23B is wired similar. Makes enough sense to me.
