Wiring up a 4 pin

You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject but I was wondering if anyone had tapped into one of their tail lights on their camper to wire up a 4 pin connection. I'm going to have to do this when my 2'' receiver gets installed on my camper. I plan on cutting my under belly and finding the wiring to my left tail light. Questions are can I do the entire connection off that tail light to get full light function for my little boat trailer lights [turn, brake, running on both sides]? Or will I have to tap into the left tail light as well to get full light functions? Is camper tail light wire color coded? Looking for advice on the subject. Thanks, Terry

Depending on how the wires are routed on the rear of your RV, you'll need to tap into one wire from the right side wiring for the brake/signal function for that side. The tail light, left brake/signal, and ground wires can all be connected from the left side wires. Here's a diagram on eTrailer's site that'll help you out.

Do your research to figure out where your wires are routed. It looks like your Eagle is a TT. My experience all of the wiring including the exterior lights runs inside the TT, with all the other wires and not under the floor. With your very open rear living areal, not sure how they would route them without going under the floor.

An alternative that some people have done is splice in where the 7 pin wire harness, transitions to regular wires. For neatness and some protection, install a 1/2" electrical PVC to the underbelly, to run the new wire harness through the conduit. The conduit does not need to be sealed on the ends.
