Your opinion on Jayco quality
I really want to buy my first RV. Really love the 2020 Greyhawk Prestige 29 mvp and the 2020 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel 30.5 ckts. Read comments on Facebook and so many people are saying their Jayco is a lemon or others say they have 2 wait for 2 months for a part (on a 2020). Am now afraid to take the plunge and spend 100K and regret it. Are you guys satisfied of your Jayco? Any suggestions?

Prior to my Jayco class C I had two TT, a Fun Finder (Cruiser RV) and a Forest River. The quality, in my opinion, is about the same. Most manufacturers use the same components. I like the length of the warranty with Jayco. There is a wait for parts right now partly due to Covid. I had a window recall and the new window just came in yesterday....been waiting since the end of May. That will probably be the same across the board for brands.
I would suggest looking more into the dealer and the service they provide because there are quality issues across the board with RV brands.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!
There are far more satisfied owners, but it seems the unhappy ones are the ones that get center stage. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. It's not a Jayco thing, there are the same complaints throughout the industry, regardless of brand. If there were no questions or issues to respond to, forums would be boring.

I have had numerous RV’s and I have to say that the Jayco build quality is better than most. Yes you will have issues with any rv. As previously stated everyone uses the same components. Jayco offers a 2 year warranty and is very good to work with. I never had a claim denied. Service is always a problem with all RV’s due to the lack of experienced service people. What ever you purchase, go with a unit that has a 2 year warranty.

If I had to do it over, I'd go with a Grand Design Solitude. All the techs at our dealership told me, as they sold both. Either way do an extensive PDI before accepting it.

We are in Ontario Canada and things may be different. There are only 2 Jayco MH dealers both very reputable. Our MH is currently in for several warranty issues. 1st due to Covid we have had to wait since March to get this work done but we have been able to use our MH. 2nd Jayco has been on top of this from day one and our warranty will be extended 5 months. would we like another year YES just because we will not get to use RV again until spring. That being said if any of the warranty items are still an issue I have faith that Jayco will be there for us. Is our 2019 $$$ MH great quality....our 2002 Jayfeather in 10 years never had one issue. Would we buy another Jayco..yes.

I purchased a 2020 Entegra Esteem 29V, which is the same as a Greyhawk 29MVP , 3 months ago. I've used it 8-9 weekends so far and used everything except the furnace. The only issue I've had was the A/C not working on low, which was caused by a loose wire in the thermostat. Of course there were some cosmetic issues, like wood trim around overhead bunk not glued and seal for main slide missing adhesive . The dealer took care of those issues when I brought it in for my 6 week check up. Being a 1st time rv owner I'm very happy with my motorhome. Just remember, whatever you get , when you drive is going to be like an earthquake on wheels so some screws and clamps will vibrate loose so you will need a to tighten some things from time to time.

Our trailer did not cost anywhere close to $100 grand, but we have been fairly satisfied with Jayco quality. There have been a number of small “nuisance fixes” that I’ve dealt with. The few bigger issues (dead converter, bad radio) my dealer fixed promptly. If you buy, I’d strongly suggest using a dealer with a good reputation for its service. That, to me, is worth a few bucks you might save buying it out of the area. Sure, you are going to hear some say they got a lemon and have had nightmares. Sadly, that can apply to almost anything you buy these days, from houses to exotic cars. Good luck!

Over all we have been happy with our Jayco, we had a few problem but the dealer work it out and now it's okay we are getting ready to go on a 4000 miles round trip in the first of September so we will see if anything come up. We still have another year before our Jayco Eagle warranty is out.

Look at different brands within your budget.
You will notice a difference in the fit and finish of the interior components.
We noticed this when we looked at a comparable Springdale. Our Jayco looked much better.

Two years into my Entegra Odyssey, and have to say I’m more than pleased with the quality. Only one real “house” issue, small leak behind toilet and readily fixed. Valve on tire and 12v lighter and USB up front had issues but both quickly addressed.
Selection of some components could be improved (shower head, digital thermostat to name a few) but those were easy upgrades to do. Most beef up the chassis components (sway bar, track bar) to improve the handling but I believe that’s done irrespective of the brand you buy. As folks have said above, the two year warranty is a strong selling feature..means they stand behind the product they deliver from my perspective. Jayco does seem to be very understanding with respect to warranty claims, just that COVID has extended lead times for spare parts as factories were either closed or running at less than 100%.

its really two factors that will impact your experience - the quality of the dealers service, and the build quality of the unit. If either are lacking, you are not going to have a good time with warranty. For the, the quality of the unit was haphazard, as most brands are, but was notably worse than my prior Keystone (which is saying something). That said, the dealer involved with this unit is really poor - a local Camping World location - which has really made the experience pretty rough. I gave up trying to get work done via warranty, since they would either do it poorly, not do it correctly, or mess up something else while it was there. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
The dealer where I purchased my keystone was good, so the overall experience was much better.
Point being, get a read on the dealer service, as you will most likely need to work with them for a while on warranty issues.

We've had a ton of issues with our 2019 Jayco 28BHS. Almost every appliance has had an issue at this point. We went with Jayco because of the 2 year warranty. The problem I have is what someone else mentioned and that's the service department. They're what would deter me from buying a Jayco in the future. If they knew what they were actually doing everything would be fine. There's ZERO quality assurance at my dealers service center. For instance, no exaggeration here. I had my trailer in for the awning not working 6 times last year. Each time I was told it was fixed and it wasn't. After the third time I'd go to pick it up and immediately test the awning just to find it still wasn't working. It's like they didn't even look at it. They have given Jayco a bad name in my opinion.

I don't think there's a significant difference in the quality of any of the mid-priced manufacturers. As others have said, there is often a BIG difference in the quality of the dealer's service department, so that is worth paying attention to. Our new 29MV had a few minor issues (water leaks, loose components, etc) but nothing that I haven't been able to fix myself. All of the manufacturers use the same components (and applicances) and those are what is most likely to fail/have issues.

Are they a "JAYCO EXCLUSIVE" dealer? You would have the same problem with any brand you buy there.

Exactly!!!
Owning an RV is a love/hate thing for most of us. Love it when things are going well and hate it when things break.
AND THINGS WILL BREAK!!!
Some cheap, some expensive.
Is Jayco better than the others?????? Bah - who knows, who cares. It comes down to the Team that was working the assembly line that day.
Besides, the chassis is Ford, the frame is MORyde, the microwave is Frigidare, the Air Conditioner is Coleman, the generator is Onan/Cummings.
All Jayco does is bolt this stuff together.
My generator blew itself up - that's not Jayco's fault.
Anyone who gets into RVing with some serious expectation setting about maintenance and repair will be unhappy.

In my experience so far (with a TT before and now a motorhome), I've had VERY little trouble with the Jayco stuff. It's been all the other suppliers' parts that have caused the most problems.
On my TT, the only major "Jayco" issue I had was the diamond plate on the front coming loose. Dealer fixed under warranty, did a good job, and I had a good dealer. And the shower drain leaked, which I diagnosed and fixed fairly easily.
On Motorhome, I've had the jacks fail twice now (Lippert), my automatic transfer switch just recently died (Progressive Dynamics), I had a crank, no start condition on the Ford chassis (Ford warranty fix; Ford warranty is 3 years BTW), bad water heater board (widespread and known problem with Atwood/Dometic), recently lost a step motor (R&R'd it myself for the cost of the part, a Lippert part, well "Kwikee" technically, but owned by Lippert) ... and that's pretty much it I think.
DW asked recently if our rig was a piece of crap. I said nope, it's actually pretty solid, it's just they put crap IN it, and largely because of a lack of better options. You'd get the same crap with a $600,000 coach; same Dometic/Norcold fridge (unless residential), same Atwood/Dometic water heater, same PD transfer switch, same Onan generator, etc etc etc... The only real significant difference MIGHT be the build quality, and that hasn't really been much of a problem for us.
Would I buy another Jayco? Absolutely. But it wouldn't be the only rig in the running. I'm not brand loyal that way. So while I would probably shop Jayco first, I would shop the others as well.
And like a few others have said, you have to take complaints with a jar of salt. Some folks have a problem, get online to complain about it, and never come back with an explanation on a potential resolution. So many of those complaints you find could have been satisfactorily resolved by Jayco or another component manufacturer, but you never hear that part. Some people get really jaded after one minor problem and shoot off about how horrible a product is. Some have unreasonable expectations....

We sold our 2011 Greyhawk 31DS this week. We bought it new, and with the exception of a faulty A/C that was replaced by the dealer under warranty, it was never in a shop anywhere for repairs of any kind. Only in for routine servicing.
I made a few cosmetic fixes and we restrung two of our blinds ourselves.
After 28,000 miles, over 20,000 of them towing our Ford Explorer Sport, we have nothing but good things to say about Jayco.
This was our second new Greyhawk, and the first was trouble free as well.
I have really enjoyed this forum, but we are now out of the RV life.

Since OP mentioned purchasing "new", I'd be watching out for what motor the chassis has. Word around this forum is that the new 7.3L V-8 coming in the new Ford Super Duty and F-53 chassis is going through some growing pains. There have been SEVERAL reports of burned up spark plug wires and coils. And replacement parts have not been readily available due to supplier issues.
I directly asked a business associate of mine who is a salesman at one of the larger Ford dealerships in the area, and he said he's sold MANY trucks equipped with the new motor and hasn't had a single one come back. He IS a salesman, but he's a good man too, so I would expect him to shoot me straight. But I did ask him in a public forum, so maybe he was deflecting...
IMO, if you're going to buy new, and it's going to be equipped with the 7.3, I'd wait or make every effort to get one with the old 6.8 Triton.
Again, not a Jayco problem, but a Ford problem. So I couldn't hold this against Jayco.
