1990 Jayco 2850 info wanted

We just bought a 1990 Jayco 2850 jay series fifth wheel. This is our first time with a real camper. If came with no manuals. We don't know where to start. Anyone have any info on specs or manual info of this camper. Or how to operate awning and other things?

Hey FFH! Welcome to the forum - glad you found us and congratulations on your purchase!

For the manuals - check out this thread.

The Jayco manuals are a good reference, but by no means an all-inclusive guide. There are a lot of good folks here that are glad to help. A couple suggestions to get you started --

Since yours is a little older, take a few pictures of what you are need assistance with - such as the awing. It helps to know the make/model since there have been many different types in the past.

If you are completely lost - you might call your local dealer and see what they would charge if you came by and had them do a walk through with you. Might be money well spent.

When you are camping - dont be afraid to ask your neighbor for some help. You will find most folks will be more than willing to come over and give you a hand. Put out some food and beer and who knows how much help you might get

And last, but not least - post plenty of questions here. There are no stupid questions around here and we love to help folks get started.

Thanks we have a time set of with a guy who has worked at Jayco for over 20 years to help us learn what to do and how to do it.

He is also making a few repaires for us.

We plan to leave on our first trip in a few days for labor day week end.
