2001 Jayco Qwest

We are just starting to look at used travel trailers and though we have done some research it has been enough to let us know how little we know. Some of the things I have been reading about this manufacturer have me quite alarmed. But then again I know that often only the bad gets reported and posted. At any rate I could use advice
, If anyone has any experience with the particular model I listed in the subject here. As well, your and put on specifics to note when looking at a used travel trailer and also when looking at a used travel trailer from this manufacturer.

With a 16 yr old unit it will have little to do with JAYCO, but it will depend on how well the previous owner(s) maintained it. With that said we had a 2001 DESIGNER motorhome that was flawless from day 1.

I agree with Grumpy. There are thousands of used travel trailers out there. Check them out from stem to stern including all maintenance records and upgrades done by the previous owner(s). If possible, have it checked out by someone in the RV business who can help you identify any issues that may arise. Good luck.

I certainly thank you. We will follow the suggestion.
The trailer is truly in remarkable condition from what we can tell. A very diligent young couple with 5 kids have owned it for the past ten years. Seemed to take great care of it no doubt due in great part because of their precious cargo. Gave us very thorough details and records.

I have a 2000 Qwest 29 footer. Check thoroughly for water damage, especially in the front where the corner moldings are, check the storage compartment for soft wood. Open all cabinets and around the windows.Check the roof, if there wasn't proper care on the seams you can bet there is damage under there. Do this on any used unit. Check appliances, plan on replacing the tires unless the previous owner can show a receipt for the age of tires. There are videos on checking used RV's,just do your research and you can find a decent older unit that has been taken care of.
