My husband has single handedly turned our dream into an electrical nightmare. In the first week he stripped our 7 wire plug from the camper to the truck. I thought we had that solved, but when we left the campsite, our breaks locked up on the fifthwheel. The only way they would release is to unhook our depth well battery. Now, we have 4 outlets that aren't working. Replaced the GFCI 3 times, purchased an outlet checker, now the green light on the fridge is blinking. Hes plugged that into the outside 30/50 amp with an extension cord. Fridge isnt blinking anymore, but the convertor is definitely sounding louder. And I haven't been able to find an electrician since our first site

Sounds like you have a wiring problem in the work your husband did. I would start by closely inspecting what he did. Pull the tape back and check for a short. Double-check the color codes on the wires. Make sure you didn't ground something out that should have power. You have a brake problem. Maybe you shorted the brake wire to something else.

I would then check the ground and power connections behind the breaker panel. Look for a wire that appears burnt or insulation melted. The most likely cause is a bad ground. I have a later model camper. There is a ground terminal strip behind the breaker panel. A copper wire runs from there to the camper chassis. Closely inspect those.
