Unhappy 2017 Designer window Valance Issues

Hi everyone , Purchased new Designer last spring. This was our fist Jayco unit. Love the rig but have a few reservations.
First trip from Ohio to Cape Hatteras - 3 of the window valance's had pulled out of the wall and was lying throughout the unit at first fuel stop.
Great way to start our first trip . Needless to say - not impressed !

Anyone else on here have this issue, and what did you do for repair ? Thanks

CONGRATULATIONS on the JAYCO!!!

...and WELCOME TO JOF!!! The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!!

I did not have this bad of an issue, but had a few of them loose due to over tightening of the mounting screws. Probably due to the factory installer using an electric screwdriver with the torque setting to high. I moved the brackets about 1/4" away from the original holes and used a screwdriver to tighten them. Before I moved the brackets I filled the existing holes with wood putty.

That was over 5 years ago and they are all doing fine.

Unfortunately this was not that easy. They used 2 inch screws into the paneling and foam pressed inner wall. Not going to hold A 5 lb window valance going down the highway very long.
I have moved all the brackets in close to the window frames and remounted. Hopefully there was enough bite there to hold. Just nothing else to mount to in these foam molded walls.

Congratulations on the new Jayco and welcome to the forum. We had a similar problem and had it taken care of by the dealer. They looked at all of the valances and remounted them. No problems since. Be sure to take full advantage of the 2-year warranty.
