2021 Jayco White Hawk

We purchased this awesome camper took it camping and it rained. The bedroom window that is huge and awesome leaked. We took it back to the dealership and they repaired the leak, ran water for hours and we got it ready to camp. We loaded it and were ready to leave the next morning. It rained over night. We went out to find water in the same places. The dealer came to pick it up and tried removing the window and it broke. They have a new window coming from Jayco, but now I'm worried it won't correct the problem. I'm just sick about this. Has anyone else had the same issue? We've owned this less than a month.
Thank you,
Margi

I have not had an issue like that and I hope you get it fixed soon. By the way, welcome from northeast Illinois.

Margi,

Welcome to JOF

Hopefully the installation of a new window will address the leak issue..., especially if the root cause was a defective window assembly.

Depending on the particular OEM window manufacture and associated installation requirements, I've seen Jayco window installations (like mine) that utilize a rubber bulb seal which can be 'compromised' at time of installation resulting in a leak.

Utilizing Butyl putty tape IMO is a more effect RV window installation seal and is commonly used when replacing most types of RV windows.

Welcome to the site from SW Michigan and congrats!

That's frustrating! But I sure hope the new window will take care of it. If not, that rules out the possibility of a defective window and they can broaden their search. Good luck and happy trails!

Sorry to hear that Margi. Very frustrating. Hopefully they get it fixed correctly this time. I see St. Charles as home. That wouldn’t be St. Charles, Michigan would it?

Welcome Margi. Sorry to hear about the water issue and hope the new window resolves the problem. The fact that the dealer reacted quickly gives some confidence they are serious about customer service. Don't let this dampen your enthusiasm.

Thanks, and we're from St. Charles, MO. We are very hopeful this will be resolved on Monday and we'll be camping soon! Our first camper and not the way we wanted to start out.

Thank you!! It has me a bit worried, but the dealership is as comforting as they can possibly be. We look forward to future camping for sure!

Update

The dealership is replacing our camper after the third attempt to repair the window. Thank heavens, they are a solid customer service first dealership.

Wow, good news for sure.

Makes one wonder what they found during the third attempt

They found nothing. They got a video of my hand splashing in water. Their third attempt was that they replaced the entire window, but apparently the trip to our house jarred it enough that it leaked again. They had even taken it for a road trip and re-water tested. They're trying hard to make it right. Thankful.
