A newbie here to this site (which I found very informative) and to the RV world. For our first time out with our TT (2011 Jay Feather 165 Sport) we chose to do some dry camping at " the beach " our favorite spot ( Carpinteria State Park ) here on the west coast. Definitely hoping all goes well especially on battery power but as I have learned you must stay conservative, oh well, live & learn. Wish us luck!
Would like to give all you all a big shout-out from California especially the 165ers! Would definitely enjoy reading what you all have to say! Bye for now.

oh i envy you...i wish it was warm enough to go to the beach here in NY...spring is wednesday and they are predicting a snowstorm Monday night and tuesday morning...darn groundhog!

Hi Boss Wagon ! Our first trip went well with a good drive, nice weather, but have to admit forgot a few things like no water in the toliet bowl ( forgot to turn on the water pump ) but only my little one uses it & what was setting off the smoke alarm while the wife was cooking with the fan on ( did not open the vent on the outside of the TT ) little things,huh ? Oh well ! But we really did enjoy this little 165 ! Next time pictures for sure ! Thanks !!

Only because it isn't a wife(girl) vs hubby(boy) thing (or older generation thing) here at JOF.... Family friendly and safe here no matter who you are.

Welcome to the JOF Chuckwagon! I wish they had the smaller light weight Jayco's back in 2007 when we looked for a tt. Wound up with a fiberglass Casita which was nice, but really confined. We stayed at the Carpinteria St Park with that Casita. Fun memories

Yes I have to say the weather is pretty good this time of year here in Ca. even here in the central valley where we experience all the seasonal temps. probably why the coastal cities are so inviting for us. But our 1st trip went well with our 165 Sport I have to say like you there is only 3 of us so even though the TT is small the floorplan is ok maybe later we'll move up to C class ! Thanks for your reply with hoping your weather changes very soon ! Bye for now

Hi, Carpinteria State Park is our fav as we have camped ( alot of tent camping )at other " beach " state parks but we always are looking to get into Carp. Very very popular place no matter if its a tent or a class A you see it all. But just trying to learn this trailer thing & have some fun along the way. Thanks for your reply bye for now !

Have you stayed along the Rincon Hwy north of Ventura along the 101? Very kewl... of course as you know, in the Spring/Summer that area along the Southern Calif Coast gets the foggy mornings and very windy late mornings into afternoons. Check out the coastal opportunity South of Carpinteria if you haven't yet....
