"About to Be" New Florida Member!

Hello, all. The DW and I are about to join the "family". We attended the GS Rally in Daytona yesterday and signed a deal to buy a 2013 White Hawk 27DSRL, "downsizing" as it were, from our HitchHiker LS that was our "first".

We're both retired and live in Central Florida north of Orlando. Looking forward to our new rig, and the good times that go with it.

See ya' here and who knows, maybe on the road. :hihi:

Thanks all. We're trading a NuWa HitchHiker ll/LS because after 4 years' use,we decided the rig wasn't really fitting our usage (thought we'd be on the road a lot and for long time) and with fuel prices what they are (and what they will be) figured a lighter "rolling brick" wind resistance aside, might help in that area as well. Was pleasantly surprised when we walked through the White Hawk floorplan we're buying and found the layout is nearly identical to the HitchHiker's.............and quite liveable!

We're looking forward to taking delivery soon, and if I may, a shout out to Orlando RV in Winter Park. Of all the dealers exhibiting at the Daytona GS rally this weekend, they were the only dealer that had an extensive display of bumper pull trailers as well as everything else. And so far, they have been very nice to work with, and despite being a show sale, no arm twisting. I liked that!

Well, our status is no longer "owners to be". Went to Orlando RV Monday and sealed the deal on the White Hawk 27DSRL! PDI/Orientation scheduled for 11/16. Looking forward to it.

Our PDI/Orientation is this coming Friday (11/16). We plan to do a "shakedown" trip just over to Daytona area, then weekend trips through the winter months (if we can find an available campsite. Kinda hard to do in Florida for some reason). The trip we most want to do is up to the UP of Michigan next summer.

Delivery Day!!!!! We took delivery of our 2013 White Hawk from Orlando RV today. Overall, we are very pleased with the excellent service provided. In addition to the PDI/Orientation, the service dept. also installed the Reese Strait-Line hitch (man, was that worth every penny!), a Fantastic Fan and MaxxAir vent cover to replace the buzz saw fan in the bath. The unit was impeccably detailed inside and out, and the only issue found was a loose weather seal caused by a ****eyed screw in the door frame of the rear entry door (immediately repaired by the tech performing the orientation).

We head over to the Daytona area for a weekend "shakedown" trip tomorrow. I'll take some pics of the rig set up and post them (when I figure out how!).

A side note: I had inquired about cost and installation of the Dexter EZ FLEX suspsension equalizer. Gary, at Orlando RV couldn't locate a part number, so he contacted Dexter Axle and spoke to their engineering department. Seems Dexter does not have an EZ FLEX product that will work on wide set axles like the White Hawk. Anyone know of another company that might have something similar to the EZ FLEX that will work?

Here's a couple of exterior shots of our new White Hawk at the Daytona Speedway KOA this past weekend. Would have posted interior pics as well but the flash on my camera took the weekend off. Anyway, the trailer towed behind the Ram nicely, setup and leveling was done on the first attempt (amazing to me since our fifth wheel had Bigfoot and I never had to do any more than push a couple of buttons!). The trailer performed flawlessly, only a couple very minor issues. I have to say the folks in Service at Orlando RV did a great job prepping the unit for delivery, because it was truly "camping ready"!!
