Unhappy Ahh the Pleasure of a new RV until...

Upgraded from a Jayco Jay Feather travel trailer to a Jayco Greyhawk 31F. Took possession a week ago and went on a shakedown trip of 3 days. Went OK until we tried to auto retract the self leveling jacks. Got a loud pop and then error code stating the retract was timing out and the leveling system needed to be taken in for repair. Hmm. With the levelers stuck down that does pose a problem. Talked to two dealerships...but it was a Sunday...and no one could figure out how to get it to retract the levelers. Could not re-level, could not manually retract, could not auto retract. Just got error codes. Had to abandon the unit and return home to visit the dealership first thing Monday and see what they intend under the warranty. Is this a common, or somewhat common occurrence? Fortunately we were only 1.5 hours from home.

Welcome to the forum.
From what I've noticed, problems with the levelers on class C's and trailers are a frequent topic. But having them stick in the extended position is not common.

Hopefully you'll get it resolved quickly.

Well, it turns out the prep of our new Jayco Greyhawk wasn’t all it could have been. Found out that after the orientation, apparently they did not disconnect the unit from the street power and ripped the cord and connection box in the coach out. Also, the level problem turned out to be...after some time rolling around in the mud and gravel under the motorhome...there was no fluid in the hydraulic reservoir for the levelers. 3 quarts later and some more rolling around on the gravel and mud, the levelers worked and retracted. RVing...an adverture!
