Another New Michigan Owner

We're from Michigan's Thumb and just took delivery of our 2015 Jay Flight 26BHS. We have been rv'ing for decades but this is our first Jayco. "We" includes DH, DW and handicapped adult DS. Not exactly sure yet just how we'll use it, but mostly expect the trailer to be a substitute for hotel rooms while traveling.

Welcome and congratulations! You'll love it. A trailer is a great substitute for motel rooms, but don't expect things to be cheaper. When all is said and done between the cost of the unit and additional gas expenses, cost over using motels is a wash. However having a trailer is far more fun.

Welcome to JOF

Plenty of campgrounds in the "Thumb" area, some nice ones right on Lake Huron!

And a BIG welcome from Grand Rapids, too!

IMHO, it's not about what's cheaper: motels or camper. It's about what's more comfortable. With my trailer, I sleep in my own bed, on my own clean sheets, pillows, blanket & bed spread; and I use my own bathroom that I've cleaned to my standards. As a bonus, I can choose a beach view, shaded forest view, sunny meadow view, desert view, mountain view, or whatever view I want. And I awaken to the smell of bacon and coffee cooking over an open campfire, instead of the banging of maid-service carts and vacuums in the hallway.

Ya just gotta love this camping life!
