Thumbs up Another Newbie

Thought about this for a while. My weekends were tied up with our son racing Quarter Midgets and then Micro Sprints for the past 18 yrs. He is now racing on his own 29 years old now. So we finally took the plunge and bought a 2015 Jayco White Hawk 20MRB. We are going out this weekend for the fist time actually I can't wait. The only mod I did so far was to add a sub system to the stereo. I am glad there is a Forum for Jayco owners....

Congratulation on your new purchase and welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people on this site. If they can't answer any questions you have, they can point you in the right direction to get them answered.

Congrats, we love our White Hawk. Have a great time on your first outing, but keep pen-and-paper in hand and create a 'punch list' of "fixes" for the dealer. We took 3 shake-down trips (one with full hook-up, one with no hook-ups, and one involving a nasty drive) and learned lots. We also documented all the steps (set-up, tear-down, etc.) so we could verify we weren't missing anything (and as instructions for our 26-year-old son should he wish to borrow it). Biggest advice learned from the college of 'hard knocks':
1) Don't do anything (set-up/tear-down especially) with others talking at you 'cuz for sure, you'll overlook something - even when it is 2nd nature; just get a drink and listen OR tell them you'll be over to chat later but need some quiet-time to do the chores.
2) Be prepared for getting into your site (to include how to back-up) ~ we now use cell phones (or walkie-talkies when there is no connectivity) along with hand signals ... lots less stress and eliminates the risk of becoming campground entertainment!
3) Relax! Remember, this is why you ARE camping.
