Asheville, NC area new forum member

Greetings fellow campers,

We hail from the Asheville, NC area. I have camped my entire life. Following family tent camping, our first "camper" was a Cox pop-up in the late 1960's. Following the Cox, we enjoyed using our Starcraft Venture 1080 from about 1972 until we recently sold it to some friends.

In 2003, we purchased our first Jayco. It was a 1997 Eagle 264BH. In the spring of 2007, we sold the 264BH to our very good friends and ordered our 2007 Eagle 314BHDS. We love it! Our preferred dealer has been Terrell Camping Center in Terrell, NC.

We travel with the TT 2-3 times/year to other mountain areas, Lake Norman, and the North Carolina Outer Banks or Myrtle Beach. We use the trailer most often at our property on the New River in Piney Creek, NC where the 264BH makes regular appearances and the Venture 1080 still shows up from time to time.

Our tow vehicle is a 2000 Ford F250 Lariat, long bed, extended cab, 7.3L turbo Powerstroke with approximately 120 kmi using a 12,000 lb Reece trunnion style load distributing hitch with dual cam sway control and Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller.

We are Good Sam Club members.

See you at the campsite!

-Scott

Thank you, wiscampsin. We have really enjoyed ours as well. I believe the 2007 was the first year with the white skirting. The ones we saw at the dealer when we ordered ours had a metallic gold tint on the skirt.

Was the scissor type awning factory installed or a dealer option? Ours is the traditional 3-point frames.

Scott,

Welcome to the Jayco forums.

I have always enjoyed the Asheville and surrounding Smoky Mountain area. My parents lived over in the Brevard area for years until moving north a few years back (closer to family). Although not a camping destination, we always enjoyed the view out at "Pretty Place".
