Bought a Little One
Just wanted to say "Hi".
I am a 54 year old male, married 34 years, just working 24 weeks per year now, and an empty nester. We have a 45' motorhome (our second one over the last 9 years). I often go to areas that I shouldn't be taking a huge rig, and decided to find something small, for when the wife doesn't want to come along, and I don't want the big rig and/or can't take the big rig. That's basically anytime I am alone!
I bought a mint 2012 Jay Flight Swift 198RD today. I have a 2016 Ram 2500HD 4X4, 6.4L gas truck (crew cab, 6'4" bed) that I pull behind our motor home, so I will also use it to pull my "new" little camper. The elderly gentleman who sold me the camper never got to use it, and only bought a ball hitch to pull it home and park it. So, I am going to need to get all the "necessaries", like a sewer hose, water hoses, fuses, wheel chocks/blocks, etc. The wife will shoot me if I raid our motor home for stuff, so I need to make a list of what to buy. I will peruse the forum and get most of my info, but any links to good threads would be appreciated! Also, my truck sits up much too high, so I am going to need to get a drop hitch, perhaps as much as 11 inches to even tow it away. So, I've got to figure out which hitch to buy, as well!
Even though I am a very experienced RV'er (is that a word?), I've never had a travel trailer, so I have some stuff to learn just like a newbie, I am sure.
Anyway, enough for now. See you on the forums!

Congratulations on your mint 2012 Jay Flight Swift 198RD, sounds like quite a find. Enjoy your camping experiences with it. The members of this forum are very helpful. They have helped us in the past and we have learned all sorts of neat things from them.

Congratulations on the new toy!
I would go over the roof and seams with a fine tooth comb, and look at all the sealant, and make sure it's in good condition. About 18 months ago I noticed my 2012 was starting to show its age.
Happy camping! Wish I only worked 24 weeks ago ge year.

Thanks for all the kind welcomes!
And yes, I plan to go over the roof and all the seals from top to bottom as one of the very first tasks.
I downloaded the online owner's manual for the camper last evening, and have read through chapter 7 already! I have never had an RV that uses propane, so that is an entirely new knowledge base for me. We have always been all electric, so considering propane usage rates will be fun for a while! Also, I have only had electronic, air leveling systems up to now, so I am entirely new to leveling manually. That should be an experience the first few times, as well.
