Brand new Jayco. Can't light furnace.

I bet I am doing something silly.
Got a new 2014 154bh baja. Walk through at dealership they
showed me pilot light but never actually lit it. I have full tank n I let the stovetop
burn for 5 mins. I can't get the pilot to light. We are off to sequoia f thanksgiving for our
maiden voyage n our heat is not a go. Help! Is there some dial I'm not
turning? It's a Robert shaw. I followed the instructions-nada!
Please belp

Btw , the pilot vs red button seems a little
misaligned. I smell no gas if I hold down the
red button. Like I said, the stove is getting
propane for sure.

I'm stuck, please help. I'm a newby to this

The pilot is most likely for the hot water heater - not the furnace. Your owners manual will tell you how to light the furnace

(generic for smaller Swift furnaces) After a thorough purging of the propane lines (and assuming you have 120V Shore Power or 12VDC Power), Remove the grill cover from furnace inside the TT (rotate the top / bottom retainer clips 90 degrees), flip furnace switch (behind the furnace grill cover) to on / press "reset" if available, re-install furnace gill, turn thermostat to "on" position (top lever usually), set thermostat temperature (bottom lever usually).

A spark generator will ignite the furnace burner (provided all safety precautions are met)

If your hot water heater pilot wont light....that's another issue. Your dealer should have tested and shown you how to safely operate all these appliances during PDI

You have a package of paperwork that includes all the installed components that make up your unit. In that stack/package, however you recieved it, you will find owners manuals for your furnace and your hot water heater.....Relax, find the books and read them.

I would think your furnace has an on/off switch on the top right side of the thermostat.
They can be extremely stiff to push to the on position.
Then set the temperature up and see if it lights.

All good information and ideas.

To add to the list.

If you turn the propane tank valve on too quickly it may cause the built in safety flow limiter to activate. That will reduce the gas output severely. The pressures across that safety valve need to equalize to return to normal operation. The simple correct is to turn the tank valve off for an hour or so and then turn it back on very slowly. You may reduce the wait time by turning the tank valve off and then turning on a gas stove burner to equalize pressure. Regardless of whether the flow limiter is your problem this time, it is a good habit to always turn on the tank valve slowly.

With the furnace thermostat in the on position, if you raise the setpoint temperature above ambient then a fan in the furnace should start running pretty much right away. If a fan doesn't start running with a high setpoint then for certain first check the "on" switch as was mentioned by Doug.
