Brand new to forum and RV地g

We just bought a White Hawk 23MBH in Bozeman Mt where we have a second home. Towed it home to Oregon about a month ago and keep in our shop. We bought the biggest unit that would fit in our biggest bay. Towed it with 2014 Chevy Tahoe. Just trying to get used to totally new issues to us like the EQ hitch, leveling the unit, blown fuses on power tongue, how to plug in the 3 prong power cord to standard 110, etc. looking forward to getting good advice here and actually goin camping.

Congratulations and welcome! Will try and answer some of the questions. Leveling side to side can be done with 1x8's, 2x8's, lynx levelers, or Andersen levelers. A good bubble level is a necessity. The blown fuse on the tongue jack can be the result of hitting the limit on the tongue jack. It's usually a 30 amp fuse located in a holder near the front part of the camper. You can purchase an adapter at any RV store or on line. You will want to purchase a surge protector to protect your investment.

Most of all, have a great time and make memories!

Welcome to the RVing world and to the JOF. Hope you enjoy your new White Hawk and all of your camping experiences. There is a lot to learn. We too are relatively new to RVing and are learning. Currently on a trip in very cold country (South Dakota, Wyoming, & Idaho) and learning about cold weather camping.

I purchased the surge protector from the dealer when picked up the trailer. What is the adaptor that you referred to? Also, will having it plugged in while stored in shop keep the trailer batteries charged? Or do batteries need to be disconnected?

The adapter has a male end that plugs into a standard household receptacle and a female end that allows you to plug in your 30 amp camper plug. Or you can get what they call a "dog bone" that accomplishes the same thing.

My camper is parked beside my house and plugged into a 30 amp service. During the winter, I unplug mine, remove the battery and put it on a battery tender until spring. Others may have different ideas and practices. All are good.

My trailer is plugged into a standard 15amp house outlet using a 30amp to 15amp adapter. Unlike 2nOZ, mine stays that way all the time we're home to keep the batteries charged.

With the main circuit breaker 'on' and the converter/charger circuit breaker 'on', the trailer's converter/charger it will keep the batteries charged. If the trailer's batteries are not on a charger, it is best to disconnect them and/or remove them.

Love our Whitehawk

We have a 23 MRB and love it. Bought it in Missoula and snow bird in Mesa AZ much of the time. As to some of your issues, we blew the tongue jack fuse as well. I have used a sharpie to mark the jack indicating that I am getting close to top and bottom and haven稚 blown it since.

I installed a battery cut off switch for when it is in storage but once a month I do plug in for a day to top off the battery
