My wife and I are in the process of closing a deal on a 2011 Jayco 165.
It has been at an outdoor storage facility in Florida, purchased in 2012 and has never been used. We are excited. Soo much to learn though from brake controllers to surge protectors and water pressure restricted hoses. Wish us luck! send your tips please. Great to be a part of this Jayco community.
Welcome to the community. I have always had good luck with the Tekonsha brake controller. Good way to get to know your trailer, on the internet type make and year and look for reviews. Don't take everything you find as gospel! Good luck, slow and easy will get you a long way.

Welcome! There is a lot to learn, but you'll be surprised how quickly you pick it up - at least that was our experience. Agree with Lynford and SecretCoveDave that slow and easy is best, and also on the Tekonsha brake controllers.

This is in no way intended to take away your enthusiasm with your new purchase. If it was me, I would get someone qualified to inspect the roof and all the seals. If it has been setting in the outdoors in Florida's sun, there is a possibility of seals and caulking starting to crack after 3 years of intense sun and heat. I'm certainly not trying to create doubts in your mind of your purchase. Just something that I would have inspected. Could save a lot of costly repairs down the road and would give me peace of mind!!!
