Brand new travel trailer owners!

Brand new to RVing here, so I'm sure we'll be asking questions as they come along. If anyone has pointers they wish they knew when they first picked up their trailer, please let me know!

We're picking up our White Hawk 29RE on the 26th!

One question I have right off the bat, my MSRP sheet has listed:
Rack, 2-Bike Storage (A-Mounted) - $262.00
Grill, Exterior Bumper Mount - $225.00

I did not see these on the actual trailer when we purchased it, and I want to make sure that we have everything we paid for before we leave. Are these attached to the bumper or tongue?

The bumper had a mount that looked like a grill could be attached to, but for $225, I thought it would come with a grill. If not, I'm perfectly fine without it.

I would suggest marking it down on your list of everything to check out when doing your PDI to make sure you get them if they are on your MSRP sheet or give them a call to verify.

Cannot answer about the bike rack as I don't have one, but as for the grill its very possible there is one. On my trailer list is was on there as a add on too. It was in the trailer when I picked up, up until then the BBQ was stored inside the dealership as it was a loose item that could easy be stolen when trailers are open to public viewing, also I would say they would also be in the way when touring the trailers.

Enjoy your new trailer and welcome to the forum

Welcome! Take your time getting to know the ins and outs of your rig. Several on here will suggest doing your first campout in the driveway to help you figure out what you are forgetting, and what you need to do for proper setup once you get to the site.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Jayco. I'm assuming that Deland in your signature is Deland Fl. If so, I recommend that you head over to the Deland/St. Johns river KOA for a couple of shakedown nights when you pick up your new unit. It's close to home so that if you forget or need anything on your first trip out, you can easily head back home to pick it up.

That's excellent.

I'm going to suggest a few more within a couple of hours of you.

First and foremost, you owe it to yourself to head over to Ft. Wilderness at Disney. Absolutely nothing compares to what they have to offer. Well worth the $$$ even if you have no intention of going in the parks.

Second, the St. Augustine beach KOA is nice little place and great location if you are in to the beach or the historical sites.

Third, the Jacksonville North/ St. Marys KOA is a very nice campground. We stayed there for a night last summer and plan on going back for an extended stay soon. Very nice sites and lots of activities, especially for kids and grand kids, right on site.

Congratulations on the new White Hawk and welcome to the forum.

You've already received lots of good info.

I'd like to emphasize the importance of doing a thorough PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). Being new to RVing, you need to know EVERYTHING works and how to use EVERYTHING.

RVing is great, but you may have a lot to learn about your trailer and all of its equipment to get the most enjoyment from it. If you have questions, just ask. All of us were new to this at some point inn our lives.

Those links were incredibly helpful! Wound up reading those last night. I now have a list of things to purchase and am getting ready to email the PDI checklist to the dealer.

Thank you everyone for your help so far!
