Buckeyes Newcomers

Just picked up our 2013 Jayco 26RLS today. We had looked at many brands and the floor plan, overall look, weight, and warranty sold us.

1st trip will be a short one of about 20 miles over Labor Day weekend. Second is planned for late Sept. to Amish country in Holmes county Ohio. Approx. 150 miles.

Welcome to the JOF Kevin and Marcia! Still a couple of weeks to the maiden voyage... any chance that you can at least do a "Camp Driveway" to try it out? LOL Congrats on your new tt

I believe there will be a couple of "camp driveways" over the next couple of weeks. Although the 26RLS is not huge, it seems to fit us to a T. We traded in our 22' Tioga Montara Class C. It was very cramped and then there was no way to get around because we didn't have a toad.

Hey Buckeyes, Welcome to the JOF! I've gotta tel you my favorite Buckeye story. About 10 years ago my NC State Wolfpack played the Buckeyes in "The Shoe". The game itself was exciting as it went to 3 overtime periods I think! But the OSU display of sportsmanship blew me away. All the folks were so nice. Then not only did your band play the Wolfpack Fight Song, the Home crowd gave my team a standing ovation as the team left the football field. Heck, I enjoyed it so much, I was even bothered when I found my vehicle had been towed because I had parked it in a residential area near the stadium. I bet the atmosphere is a bit less warming when Michigan comes to town!

Anyway, welcome and hope to see you around the campfire some day!

It's official. We just made reservations for next weekend at Hocking Hills KOA in Logan, Oh. Trip will be about 80mi. one way. We are making lists and checking them numerous times. Glad there is a Walmart withing 10 mi.

Will hopefully have some pic's and fun news when we return.

Back from our first trip. 150mi. round trip to Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. Stayed at the KOA there which fabulous. Have never seen any place so clean and well kept and super people operating it.

Found a small water leak under a cabinet in the bedroom which was fixed by finger tightening and the port on the tv where the cable goes is broken. Other than that everything worked fine.

I have only one complaint about the 26rls. There was just the two of us and we each took a shower, and washed dishes and the normal water usage. When we were ready to leave we found water backed up in the bathtub. Would have expected it to have a little larger gray tank.

Such a good time that we are going to Berlin, Oh. (Amish country) over the Labor Day weekend. About a 275 mi. trip.
