Carbon monoxide detector and wiring

We have a new 2018 Jayco 29rlds. A couple months ago hubby notice carbon monoxide was not working, no green light on. We took the kitchen drawers out and notice that the wires going to the Carbon Monoxide Detector (CMD) were cut by the kitchen drawer runners. The wires were not attached to anything but hanging haphazardly and loose. They were caught in the drawer slides.
Bad design and very unsafe. I did report it to Jayco. I feel this is a life and death situation. If someone did not notice that the CMD wasn't working and something happened because of this issue. Just want others to check this out if they have this trailer. I feel there should be a recall on this issue.

Glad you found it. Thanks for the notice.
They should be tested weekly as typically printed on the front panel.

Mine has a green light on it that is on when it is working. It's the first thing I see when opening the front door.

First things FIRST!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on the 2018 JAYCO!!!

...and WELCOME TO JOF!!! The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!!

Glad you found that the CO monitor was not operating. When you wire it back up there is a test button on the front, give it a test to make sure it is working properly. Better to be safe than sorry!!

Another problem that a PDI would have detected.
