Cross Country Adventure April 2013

Greetings all!

It has taken a while to post, but here is the story of our family's cross country adventure in April of 2013!

After many years of tent camping, we finally took the plunge and purchased a 2013 Whitehawk 28DSBH. On April 3rd, my two boys (age 10 and 12) and I set out from Grand Island, NY to "shake down" the trailer. After a week on the road, my wife flew out and met us in St. Louis, and we headed out west following I-44/I-40/Rt.66.

Major stops included Wheeling, WV, St. Louis, Mansfield, Mo., Amarillo TX., Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Joshua Tree, Phoenix, Albuquerque, etc. We arrived safely back home 6,390.3 miles later on April 28th.

The full story and some photos can be read here...

The first few blog posts are a little short on detail. I was trying to get a handle on the new trailer, and did not spend too much time writing the trip reports. Once Barb joined us, the literary value of the blog increased dramatically!

Thanks! We really had a great time. It was such a great experience driving across the country. Our next big trip will be in the autumn. Driving from Western New York to Florida.
