Thumbs up Excited about camping once again after 25 years

On our honeymoon, my husband and I camped in a borrowed tent in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It was my husband's first time camping and he was hooked. Shortly after, we bought a 4-man tent, then we got an 8-man tent, then we got a pop-up, and yesterday we bought a hybrid (Jay Feather Ultra Lite X18D). I can't tell you how excited I am that my camper will have a functional kitchen and bathroom! It's like a cabin on wheels. How relaxing my camping experiences will be now--I used to do a LOT of work when we camped, and now I'll be able to relax more.

My wife and I camped after our honeymoon, too.....except it took me 30 years to get her camping again. I guess your first experience wasn't quite as bad as ours....

Welcome! You are going to love you trailer I suspect. My LW is thrilled to have a kitchen and bathroom in our trailer. We also graduated up from a pop-up and befor that tent camping.

Honeymoon camping must have been popular back then. This is my 25th year and we camped a couple of nights on our honeymoon as well as 2 nights in a hotel on Mackinac Island and a B & B in Hearst, Ontario.

We actually went to college in the U.P. of Michigan, to Michigan Tech, but have yet to step food on Mackinaw Island or camp there. I think it sounds like a destination for us this summer! We're in IL now.

LOL, I think camping was popular for poor college students who had limited budgets for a honeymoon. I'm glad, though, that we got hooked on camping and not Hawaiian vacations... There's something so low-stress about camping, and I look forward to reading this sight for ideas on how to make the most of this new kind of camping.

Mackinaw Island is beautiful, but you won't bring your trailer along as there are no motorized public vehicles on the island, but don't pass up the oportunity to visit

Except for in the winter time when we ride our snowmobiles across the ice bridge and onto the island. :-)

We bought a TT two years ago and went back to camping after about a 15 year break. We love the TT. We aslo started out in a tent then a PUP while the kids were growing up. We love camping again.
