First time owner - X213
This forum has been great and it really helped us make a decision on a new trailer. We fell in love with the 2017 X213, especially our 3 year old daughter... I think she enjoyed jumping from the bed to the sofa more than anything.
We have never owned a trailer before, heck I have never towed anything before. I will definitely have someone video tape me attempting to back the trailer up in my driveway the first time. Anyone know of a good back up camera?
Now that we got out trailer purchased, its time to start looking at tow vehicle. Truck isn't practicle. Looking at a used Grand Cherokee (hemi or diesel), VW toureag or ML350 Diesel. Touraeg would be my top choice, but i guess it doesnt allow a WDH. ML350 is second choice, but concerned about the low tongue weight limit of 580lbs. So it looks like the Grand Cherokee may be the best bet. Cant really go bigger, want to be able to fit it in our garage during the cold winter months here.
Anyone else have the X213 who can comment on their tongue weight? Talked to Jayco directly, they said any of the three vehicles would be fine as long as if i use a WDH. Said that i could load up gear near the back under the slide to keep weight off the front. We are only weekend warriors and may try a week or two adventure. Wish i could say we are light packers...but you havent met my wife.

I have a Touareg TDI with a WDH and I think your referring to the Touareg with air suspension. When I bought in 2013 new and asked about that the service adviser said " you want the one without the air suspension so you don't void the warranty". The tongue weight for the Touareg in the US is 610 but in Europe (same car) it's 100 lbs. more. Love the car it's fantastic!

Welcome! I wouldn't worry so much about the backup cam just yet. Make sure you and your wife are on the same page about your parking strategy and communication. Cell phone and hands free are good for this.
My 2015 is quite tongue heavy. Even with the Andersen no sway WDH, I couldn't imagine it being comfortable without a properly equipped truck. I believe another Member was towing his with a Tacoma but upgraded eventually. Keep in mind, your Family's safety, and stay well within you TV limits.

Thanks for the info! The Jeep GC 5.7 Hemi or Diesel are rated at a 7200 Tow Capacity and 720 Tongue Weight. Purchased the Equilizer WDH and a brake controller as well. Given the specs of the x213 (415 dry hitch weight and 5500 GVWR) I should hopefully be ok if I go that route? Thoughts?

You'd be well within the tow capacity of 7200, however, people are seeing tongue weights well over 750 lbs with battery(s), full LP tanks, and whatever you will store in X213's front garage.
