I have the same issue with my queen bed. I put a bed lift on it and the board that is screwed into the front of the camper that holds the top and hinge is pulling away. I hope they don't say bed lifts are off limits for this unit. Anyway, yes check everything out thoroughly and do a dry run in the driveway before going camping the first time.
