Florida family joining the club

After decades of tent camping all over the USA, my family has grown to five and we are picking up our first camper trailer tomorrow morning. Our wish list was small: something that will keep us cool and dry in the Florida summers, small enough to pull with my Tacoma but still sleeps five, and priced under 15k. We decided on a 2018 Jay Flight SLX 174BH. We are so excited to begin this new lifestyle. We live in Saint Augustine and my brother is a park ranger at Gold Head Branch State Park. Any of you familiar with those places?

Congratulations! We tent camped a fair amount with the kids. But with the tt, we are out nearly every other weekend. Just wish I had your weather year round!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Jayco. I notice that you are from St. Augustine. That is our absolute favorite place on Earth. We are there at least twice a year. My entire family just loves everything that there is to do there.

Do me a favor, run over to Cucina Giovanni's over on 16 and mail me a couple of baskets of their Garlic Knots. They will be a little soggy by the time they get to PA, but will still be great.

Welcome to the circus (waving from over in Sarasota)

Enjoy your new TT... and being able to use it all year round!
(What is this "winterising", of which they speak ? :-)

Welcome to JOF. We camp year round here in coastal SC. We spend a month or so in Fl. every Feb. We have tried a good many sp's, Gold Head is not been checked off yet. We are usually in central fl. and can't get into any cg's around there during race week at Daytona.

We make our reservations a year in advance. It's getting crowded there in winter as you know.

welcome to the club. Your post reminds me of a funny story. We moved to Florida back in 1988 and had a Jayco popup. Well we went camping at Ft. Pickens, (Just outside of Pensacola) in July! I could not breath as the humidity was like 99%. I barely made it through the first night and the next day drove to the nearest home improvement store and purchased two clip on 110 volt fans just to move some air around....LOL
