Forum Newbie

Just brought home our 2016 Jay Flight 23RB. After a pop-up and a Jay Feather hybrid, it's nice to have finally found a package which scores a 9.5 on the Princess meter. The bathtub, big wardrobe and all-in-one thermostat were key factors...
We go to a lot of music festivals so will welcome any dry camping tips.

Mark

CONGRATULATIONS on the JAYCO!!!

...and WELCOME TO JOF!!! The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!!

Don

Just enter dry camping or boondocking into the above Search feature, and you will find a lot of threads regarding them. The key is "Power Conservation". How long are your dry camping outings? 2 days? 3-4 days? Week? The answer depends on how long the outings are and how much energy you use. Do you plan on using a generator or going with SOLAR? Which will bring up a whole other batch of questions... and $$$

Welcome to the 23RB club! Did you get the standard or elite package? If you have any questions fire away. Lots of people here that have "been there and done that".

Thanks guys...nice to get warm welcome. We have Elite pkg - the extra 40 gal fresh sold me but the other extras are nice, too. Our dry camping stints are usually 4 days. That's how long a typical music festival lasts. We will go solar but for now just have a smaller panel for trickle charge. During dry camp, we'll conserve battery for water pump only until we learn how much else we can use...if any. Thanks again!

Plug in your TV in the morning and let it run for 15 or 20 minutes. That will put some energy back into your battery.

Pick up a Digital Voltage Meter, something like the one below. It will keep you from letting your battery voltage drop below 12.0VDC.

Solar is nothing short of awesome if your a dry camper. I've recently installed 400w of panels on top of the 23RB and 4-6v golf cart batteries on the tongue. Hit me up if you have any questions about what will fit where and hit up Mustang for technical questions (he's the resident expert )
