Frameless Windows

Wow, had possession of my new Jayco Eagle less than 24 hours and one of the frameless windows fell off. Now wondering how safe the rest of them are.

We have a 16 Eagle 321 RSTS no issues so far! Just wish they would have matched side entry door glass.

We have dual pane frameless windows and haven't had any issues yet. I like the fact they open from the bottom (vs. slide to side). The only thing I've noticed was they'll occasionally open a fraction of an inch. I suspect it's from bumping around on the road while towing. If anything fell off, it should be covered under warranty. Make sure you keep track of every/any item that needs attention and write it down/take pictures. I'm dealing with Camping World regarding a scratch/dent on the nose cap that I noticed when we got our new rig home. Since I didn't mention it until weeks later, they're suggesting it's my fault and won't repair it under warranty.

We have a 2015 Whitehawk and one of the framless windows fell out last year.

It was replaced under warranty. The dealer put a bead of clear silicon around the sides and top (not the bottom) to give it some extra security.

Apparently it is only automotive puddy that holds the windows in.

I assume you mean the glass window panel fell off, not the entire window frame. We have these windows on our 2015, with no issues.
I am not a big fan of reduced air flow from this type of window, compared with the old louvered type though. I do like the ability to leave them open in the rain.

It's called "putty" not puddy.

Two seasons with our 2017 28BHBE with frameless windows and no issues so far. Did it fall out while you were towing it or sitting still? Take it to the dealer. Curious to see what caused yours to fall out.

Welcome to the forum. We had one shatter while driving, must have kicked up a rock and hit it just right. The hinge and latches are glued to the glass, and sliding it out of the top hinge is very easily done by removing one of the small screws at each end that keep it in place. The bottom could easily fall out in an emergency window, but others would be darn near impossible unless the glue let go.

It sounds like you described the whole frame and everything that fell out. That's good info, I'll kind of wiggle everything around a little to see if anything moves.

Frameless Window Pane

Just one of those things. We stopped by the house to check on things for a few days and just before we leave one of the RV's frameless window panes facing our house just shatters. We were walking in and out loading stuff at the time.
Talk about perplexed. Anyway it still needs to be fixed. I haven't had any luck today surfing to find sources of frameless window panes. My rig is a 2025 Jayco 339 FLQS. It seems like an easy fix if I could just get the pane. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't have these windows but I believe there was a recall on certain years for them coming un glued.

MODERATOR's NOTE:

This thread was started back in 01-05-2018, 01:48 PM and the after the last post on 01-07-2018, 11:53 PM went dormant until a post made on 06-19-2022, 08:16 PM (today) brought it back to the top of the thread list.

Because some of the posts are over 4-1/2 years old, it's possible that the information provided could now be obsolete, misleading or incorrect. You might want to consider searching for a more recent thread on this topic before using this one.

Also note this thread will be moved from the Welcome Mat forum to Jayco Travel trailers because the discussion topic doesn't fit the theme of the Welcome Mat forum.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

Smile Glue held

Thanks Debunki, the glue held in my case. Even shattered, the glass glued to the top hinge and the extension bar at the bottom held tightly and may prove to be hard to get off.

Mr. Moderator

Sorry about the choice of threads. I saw it was kind of old but I'm not very well versed on the use of the Forum and just thought I'd give it a try. Looks like it worked! If I don't get this solved I'll try a new thread. Thanks.

Yep

bdreinv,

That's exactly what I did. Now if I could only find a source of RV frameless window glass that would fit my 2015 Jayco Eagle.
