Freezer freezing up

Hello to everyone from upstate New York. We just purchased a new 2016 jay Flight 23MDS tt. We have been camping in pop-ups for the last 40+ years an decided to upgrade to a tt. Let me tell you, this is a hole new ball game for my wife an myself. Our first excursion was boon docking for TWO weeks at Assateague Island, which went very well.
My question is, the day before we started home the freezer in our nor old refrigerator started to freeze up. The back wall on inside of the freezer was solid ice. The freezer was practically empty an the sensor lights on front of refrigerator were operating normally. Being new to att, was wondering if anyone has any suggestions what we could have done to prevent this. I believe the setting was on #1 the whole time. Thank you for your time.

It's not frost free and the fuller it is the less ice build up. When it's empty humid air gets in and causes frost/ice.

You should see the ice I pull out when I shutdown at the end of the season!

Make sure both doors are closed completely too. Otherwise humid air will enter the fridge, making ice buildup worse. I full time, keep a lot of stuff in the freezer, and usually defrost it only twice a year.
Another thought, your door seal may be bad.

We don't worry about it. Over a long weekend, we'll get a little frost built up, but it doesn't hurt anything. When I get home and cut the fridge off, I just mop up the water out of the bottom of the freezer compartment and end up with one very wet kitchen towel, so it's not that much water.

I've read other users will cycle the fridge every day to keep ice from forming? I've never had enough ice buildup to worry about it, so I've never looked into it.
