Greetings

Hey, I'm Keith and my wife is Kendra. She will be starting a job as a travel nurse in a couple of weeks. Lucky me, I'm retired, so I get to go with her. I have a blog at http://husbandofagypsyernurse.wordpress.com/ .

The wife has been a nurse for over 19 years with specialties in critical care. She's worked every level from ICU units to burn units to Level 1 Trauma ER's. At present, she works in the ER of a small coastal community hospital. Her travel assignments will be in the ER's of different hospitals.

When thinking about traveling, we kicked around the idea of taking the offered housing, taking the housing stipend and finding our own housing, or purchasing an RV. The RV won out. We have 3 dogs and a parrot...there's just us and the animals, so we figured it would be easier to haul our "house" with us on assignments. With me being retired, I have nothing else to do, except keep the RV running (pulling it, setting it up, etc.).

Just yesterday, we purchased a Jayco White Hawk 23MBH. I was limited to towing weights due to the size of my TV, so the White Hawk just fit the bill. It's not that big, but big enough for us. We liked the bunks (extra storage, bird cage, dog crate, etc.) and the Murphy bed made perfect sense to us...when its up, it adds that much more living space.

While I'm confident in my abilities, I'm still somewhat of a newbie at RV'ing, so any tips would be appreciated from some of you who have been around a while.

Safe travels!!

Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to the JOF! Sounds like you're ready to start enjoying a whole different (and simpler) lifestyle. Feel free to ask about any questions/problems you encounter along the way. The folks on this forum have been both friendly and helpful to me.

Make sure to post pics of your rig, TV, and the places you visit.
