Greetings from Long Island, NY

Hello all!

My wife and I bought our first RV camper this summer, after a lifetime of tent camping. Since all of our friends and family have RVs now, it was inevitable I guess! Camping on Long Island is interesting... not a lot of places with hook-ups, but camping on the beaches is fantastic! I find myself coming to this site more and more to find out why my camper does a certain thing, or what i should be doing, etc. So here i am!

Sean

We moved to central NY from Long Island 3 years ago. We used to camp alot at Wilwood State park out in Wading River. You can walk to the beach from the camp spots..

It's a bit of a hike though. It's not so bad when going to the beach because it's all downhill. When you're coming back after a long day at the beach then it's tough. Steep, uphill climbs. lol

We started at Cathedral Pines, in Middle Island, just for the easy in and out with a camper. There are so many on Long Island though. We are going to be doing a lot of beach camping though.

My wife is from Wading River, and I am from out east. Cedar Point out in East Hampton is great with the beach too.
