Greetings from MI

Hello all,

I have been an avid camper for many years, starting out tent camping, then travel trailers, to 5th wheels, and now just purchased by 3rd Motor home. My husband passed away in 2018 and I have continued to travel (and tow), since this is something we both enjoyed. I just purchased a 2020 Jayco Greyhawk, Class C in late October and have not yet been able to use it (winter months in MI). I am having a battery issue I hope to be able to resolve! Looking forward to help if I need it!

Welcome aboard!

Ask away, what kind of battery issues are you experiencing?

The battery does not appear to hold a charge. When I picked it up from the dealer, I took it straight to storage. I picked it up two weeks ago, and have to jump start it every couple days to start it. Also this model does not appear to have an auxiliary start switch. The coach battery holds the charge, I just can't start the engine! I believe the only thing the engine battery operates besides starting is the electric step, and the memory in the radio/GPS unit.

BTW ~ the dealer is closed due to COVID-19

What? Closed? They don't want to stay in business too bad. It's a simple battery replacement AND it should be under warranty. I'd be calling them and/or ask for a callback and if they can't replace it because of this COVID nonsense see what brand battery they would replace it with and if they would cover the cost of you getting a new one from the local auto parts store. They may have a store close by that they deal with too that can first troubleshoot it to make sure it's the battery and replace it if needed. Jumping it to get into run is fine but I wouldn't drive long distance or for a long period of time ( weeks ) because all it's going to do is burn up the alternator and then you need a new one of those.
Keep us posted on your dealer and how you make out.
BTW, congrats in the new coach!
