Greetings From Western Pennsylvania

So howdy all, we are newbies to the site as well as camper newbies. We haven't pulled the trigger on our 5th wheel yet but we're getting very close as I'm retiring in less than 2 months. We've been researching 5th wheels for what seems like years, oh wait, it has been years, 3 to be exact, but we had/have a lot to learn and we know exactly what we want. There is a 90% likelihood that we'll pull the trigger on an Eagle 293RKDS in the next month as both my wife and I are very impressed with this unit. So anyhow, hello everyone and wish us luck, we may need it. BTW, our tow vehicle is a 2014 Ram diesel crew can with air shocks and 6' 4" bed, and I've already got my hitch, the Anderson Ultimate aluminum hitch.

Welcome and enjoy that new rig when you get it. Do some shopping online to get the best price available and then present that to the dealer you choose to see if they will match your price. Sometimes it may be worth an hour or two drive to save several thousand dollars.

You are right about that one. I've tried to get quotes from nearby dealers but the dealers in Michigan and Indiana blow them away. I have an internet price from RV Express that's really low, but as i would like to have a bricks and mortar dealer to call my own I am willing to pay $2-3K more if I feel that dealer will provide professional service after the sale. Is that dumb? IDK, but even if I have to drive 5 hours it's worth it to me. The problem is the PA dealers are way more expensive, and, if they won't return inquiries now I have zero faith they will after the sale when I need service.

We have a 2017 293RKDS on order. Dealer updated me via email yesterday. My unit is scheduled to come off the line March 10th.

We are south central Pennsylvania, Chambersburg area.
