Hello almost New Jayco owner

Hello
We have been looking at Jayco for some time we love the quality and workmanship. Here is our problem, we found a used Jayco eagle 314BHDS 2 slides, the owner took excellant care of the TT the kitchen is big and lots of cabnets my wife loves, the second slide is what we been looking for for space to put an addtional air matteres down for his friends, we checked this eagle out my wife noticed a hole in the top cabnet, some piece were on the shelf, and no visiable signs of mice or stains of wter, no bubbles, no dimples in ceiling tile. The owner said he just cleaned inside to sell and he said he got it back from the jayco dealer that was trying to sell it for him but the dealer went out of bussiness. The owner said he was informed by the dealer there was a hole in the rubber roof,so he had a new roof installed buy the Jayco dealer. We got the ladder up and i went up to look at the roof here is what i saw, (door side) i found it looked like a seam which has a bump the whole width of the trailer like a speed bump i push on it and it was soft and firm underneath, and when i took my finger off went back up, second looking at the other parts of the roof it looks new which it is but looks like a section is not glued down like when you see ice melting with water underneath, am no expert, as this is a private sell what do i do, we love the tt it has everything we want and here is the price $14,000 which is high but looking at other dealers the price is below what there asking, any help is much appreicated.

Thank You Buffalobills fan

My rule of thumb is to walk away if there is any roof damage. There is probably a soft spot in the wood due to the hole and if it wasn't caught early there is probably damage in the ceiling as well. If you could look up from the bottom you could tell for sure but there usually isn't a way to unless you remove some duct work or light fixtures.

Not a trailer expert either but roof issues lead to bigger issues, from the horror stories posted here. Walk away, you know the trl you want, keep looking you'll find one that will appear less sketchy and you will feel better about your purchase.

Wow I would probally walk away also. If you really like the trailer see if the the seller would mind if you take it to a jayco dealer for inspection. May cost you a little bit but if the trailer is worth it. What year is the trailer. Good luck with what you decide

I'm always nervous about mould, so I would stay away personally.

2006 eagle 314BHDS the nearest dealer has closed up shop. All others are way to far and i doubt the owner would let us take it 2 hrs away for inspection, but there other non jayco dealers here.

Roof issues can cause really serious and expensive damage, and you really can't see what all the damage is until it is exposed. So I, too would quickly walk (actually run) away from this deal, no matter how good the price is. JMHO
