Hello from Fuquay, North Carolina

We recently purchased a used/new Swift 145RB and have yet to take it for a test drive. We have never owned a TT and can't wait to take our first trip! We are slowly gathering the items we need to have to make our first trip a success. So let me ask you, what was the one thing you learned on your first camping trip that you weren't prepared for?

Welcome to JOF

The first thing I learned (long time ago) was that a Walmart wasn't close enough!

I would make sure that the prior owner didn't remove any of the sewer attachments/hose from the unit, this could be a major headache if you have to tow home a full black tank.

Thanks Bob, no our new camper didn't come with a sewer hose and that's one of the items we have yet to purchase. Most of the locations we'll be camping it at do not have a dump station, so we'll have to locate one on our way home. Do truck stops usually have a place to dump?

Welcome!

We have a similar trailer....identical water / sewage capacity. The black tank is 9 gals, it fills up fast, and its doesn't handle excessive toilet tissue well. We learned to be very conservative with water and tissue in the black tank.

Don't dump the black tank until it's full (up to the tube)....fill it with water if you are going to dump it before it's full

Happy Camping

Gail,

Some do......., maybe one of the following links will help you find a convenient dump station located near your future travels:

Hello from Fuquay, North Carolina

How quick the tanks fill if you don't have sewer hookups and do not yet know how to conserve water into the holding tanks.

Some flying J's have them. You may have to do some looking. Many rest areas used to have them but were closed due to mid use by a few.
