Hello From Long Island New York-New Eagle HTT

Hello everyone. I just bought a new 2013 Jayco Eagle HTT model 26.5 RLS after lurking in this forum for quite a while and listening to all the good things people say about Jayco.

So far I am very pleased with the camper.. Had an issue with the roof initially, but Jayco fixed it.

I do have have a couple of questions.. Thank you in advance for your help.

How critical is it that the trailer sits level when hooked up to the truck (2006 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 cummins, short box quad cab)??

I don't have any measurements other than there is approximately 7 inches of clearance between the trucks bed rails and the trailer. There is room to move the hitch down. Please look at the picture that was taken when i picked up the trailer from Camping World and let me know if you think I should be concerned about the fifth wheel nose being to high??

Also, there is a sticker in the bedroom that shows where to mount the television. The sticker seems kinda of low from the ceiling.. ( see picture)
Is it safe to assume that the entire vertical line that the sticker is on has reinforcement for a tv mount, or is it just where the sticker is.
Has anyone else experienced the low sticker? Trying to figure out if it was just sloppy sticker placement or is that where they want the tv mounted.Click image for larger version

Our's (23.5 HT) sits a bit nose high as well but we cannot adjust the hitch, it's the super glide
As for the sticker, I am just waiting to install a TV in bedroom myself and our sticker is a bit higher than your's but still unsure what is behind it and how large the area is.

Welcome to the JOF Gary! We learned from Jayco that the front/back level should be spot on when parked if refrigerator is turned on as the coils run front to back and won't flow resulting fridge not working right. When not front to back level, shut off your gas/electric for the fridge. Congrats on the new 5'er

Welcome from another Long Islander! Very nice rig!

Good questions.

I'm not familiar with 5th wheel alignment but I'm sure others will provide the correct answer.

I would ASSUME (yea I know) the sticker indicates horizontally where the stud is located and anywhere in the same vertical plane would be o.k. for putting a mounting bracket. I've mounted two brackets based on that assumption and both have held secure although I DON'T have the television mounted when I travel. The swing arm attached to my television slides in and out of the mounting bracket so when I get to a campground and set up I mount the television and then take it down when we are getting ready to leave.

All the best with the new rig.

Gary, I too have just bought a 26.5 RLS and in my case the trailer is level but my 2003 GMC is down at the back about 2 inches. The dry hitch weight seemed to be higher than stated in the broucher. I would rather have the trailer a little high and the truck level. I am now looking into how to get the truck back up so it is close to level. Congrates on the new rig.

Our truck also squated some. The trailer was level then but we added Timbrens. I love these, they are maintenance free, no air up or down. Put them on and forget about them. They leave unloaded ride normal. They only come into contact under load.
