Hello to the group.
New to the forum, and new to the brand. Our brand new Jayflight 32BHDS with the flat sides is replacing our previous Forest river product "Surveyor 23RS." Prior to the surveyor TT we were running a 1971 Starcraft Starmaster6.
The surveyor had developed floor rot, and I rebuilt the floor from the nose to the galley, which caused me significant education in RV plumbing, electrical, LP, and of course how to marry good joist-type floor to the ultra lite factory slab floor. Let me tell you... You can't BUY that kind of education!
I was drawn to jayco due to the floor and roof construction methods (I prefer joists now over luan and styrofoam.). I also wanted tin and stick walls with the Jayflight, but ended up with the new fiberglass wall option.
I'm also hesitant over this enclosed underbelly... Seems like just more to deal with when the inevitable repair will need to be made.
But overall my wife and I love the bunkhouse and the two kids really love having their own room!
I've only camped in it two nights so far, and kept it winterized due to the mountain trip and freezing temps.
Hopefully the winter will be a quick one for us.
Thanks a lot, and so far the community here has been real welcoming. I'm a ten year vet over at rv.net, and that forum clearly has a different vibe.
