Check out the North Texas Camping Association (NTXCA). We are a group of families that camp about every other month at a Texas State Park or COE within 100 miles of DFW. We communicate through a Yahoo Group. Contact me for more info.

Be sure to check the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge at Medicine Park, OK just north of Wichita Falls/Lawton Okla.... Great place to go camping... have spent many of camping trips at Camp Doris on the Refuge... If you gots kids this is a great place to go and be among the Buffalo, Long Horn Cattle, and Prairie Dogs... Many Lakes and lots of hilking trails...

(Welcome to the JOF Jpetrey! )

Russell, Is there a chance that you could post that information in the Rally's forum? I know you have a new 'make of rv' and your time may be limited here at JOF, but is there a chance that you could come back to post your future get-together's as they approach? Or perhaps a JOF member can provide the info each time? Once new members who ultimately arrive here each week can see the updated info, they will have the resource info to contact/join the NTXCA.

The North Texas Camping Association (NTXCA) is a group of families from the North Texas area that enjoys camping. Our group started in January 2000.

The purpose of the association is to provide the opportunity for family focused camping through group campouts approximately every month in various Texas State Parks, Corps of Engineer Parks, City Parks and private campgrounds.

There are no fees or requirements for membership other than Internet access and a willingness to drive to campouts within 200 miles of the DFW area.

Go to this site and request joining the NTXCA Yahoo Group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ntxca/

Visit our previous NTXCA website for more pictures and past history of our club: http://www.ntxca.com

There will be no spam, it is a closed group of 300+ members. I approve the requests.

We are going to Ray Roberts SP Isle du Bois Unit next weekend (9/14-16/2012).

Check the Group calendar for 2012 scheduled campouts. We have not yet scheduled 2013 locations and dates. We are open to suggestions and participation.

I am a charter member of the group. It started as a pop-up club in January 2000. I have been to most campouts over the past 12 years.

Hope to see you around the campfire.

If you have questions, PM me.

Thanks Everyone, we are looking forward to moving up from our current pop-up camper. I actually am a member of NTXCA yahoo group. I joined after see your group camping at Beavers Bend last year as we were there ar the same time. Unfortunately our calendars have not lined up as yet to participate anytime this year. Hopefully next year we can camp with the group.
Wichita Mountains is on our list as I think our grandson would love to see the Buffalo roaming around like they do there and so would I.

I have been researching mods for this model and have a few in mind like adding a medicine cabinet in the bathroom and reconfiguring the storage under the dinette. We can use the popup gizmos from our pop-up so that is one thing I will not have to buy.

We are planning a couple of trips soon so we can check everything out.

See you outside!!!!

Welcome from a fellow recent 23B purchaser! We just picked ours up on 8/31 and took our first trip in it this weekend. I love, love, love, love, love it. We were stuck in it during a storm for a few hours and let me tell you - what a comfortable way to pass the time in the rain! The U-dinette makes a great lounge on each side for reading a book or watching TV (though we had no hookups at the time). We couldn't be happier with our purchase - hope you are as well!

You are welcome to stop by Saturday night for the pot-luck dinner. It's a great time to meet the campers.

We've been there twice and agree that it is beautiful. However, I read about some pretty bad fires within the Wildlife refuge within the last two years or so. Have you been there lately, and did you notice any severe fire damage?

Hi Jpetrey! Welcome to the JOF! We purchased a '12 23XB earlier this year. Great trailer. Lots of great ideas on the forum as well. We are still in the process of figuring out which mods make the most sense but the large closets need extra shelves or hanging storage. We stack up our clothes and then it is a bear to dig through them to find what we want. Can't wait to hear about your experiences down the road!
