Hello from Ohio
Hello Everyone!
My wife and I along with our 4 year old daughter are headed to MI from Northeast Ohio to check out a 2012 Jayco 31.5FBHS at Haylett Auto & RV on Saturday morning! This rig looks amazing from the video that we saw from the dealer!
We have a PDI checklist that we are bringing along with us. Any additional questions or thoughts that can be provided to us will be appreciated.
We are moving up from a 2008 Keystone 26 RLS. The rear living just isn't cutting it now with our daughter. It is a great camper and we enjoyed it so much. It pulled like a dream with the ProPride Hitch!
Thanks and we look forward to becoming an active member of the forum!

Welcome from a fellow NE Ohioian.
I have checked that dealer out a bit. Were they fair with your trade value? (If you traded in that is)

Thanks Everyone! We did purchase the 5th wheel on Saturday! I will go back in about a month or so to pick it up. Now I need to decide on a 5th wheel hitch!
I'm currently leaning towards the Pullrite SuperGlide. I will be pulling the Jayco 31.5 FBHS with a 2014 Ram 3500 Crew Cab, Single Wheel, 4x4, CTD. I would love to get the Anderson Ultimate but I don't want to find out the hard way that I needed a sliding hitch!!

I'll be towing a 317RLOK, which is a little heavier then the 31.5 FBHS, with a 2016 Ram 3500 Crew, SW, 4X4, CTD with a 6'4" box. I'm going to be using the B&W RVK3600 hitch with a Reese Elite Airborne pinbox. Having done some reading and research, I'm deciding I'm not a big fan of sliders, even auto sliders. This setup solves the short box problem in a nutshell.
Good luck!

Thanks I will have to look into that setup. I do like the B&W Hitch. From my research it is my understanding that the Reese Sidewinder cannot be used with the B&W Companion. Though, I did not realize the Reese Elite Airborne Pinbox was extended. I will look into this option! thank you,

Congrats on the new Eagle, lots of fun camping ahead. I purchased from Haylett last summer and could not be happier, the salesman was great, no pressure, took his time to explain everything, and service was great after the purchase to fix a few small items. I have one of the largest RV dealers within 4 miles from home but drove 140 miles to buy from Haylett, they beat the best pricing I was able to find.

I didn't trade with them. They did give me a quote. It was fair as they did not see the camper. It was more than Camping World offered me! I kind of look as Haslett's as a wholesaler as their prices are very competitive. So you kind of get the same wholesale price on the trade in.
I was very happy with the Sales experience. There was absolutely no games.
Since we do not have a loan on the old camper we decided to sell it ourselves.

I think I am going with a similar set up as yours. I'm going with Reese Sidewinder and the Pullrite 16K Super 5th ISR. I don't have the 5th wheel prep in my truck. The dealer I am working with has both B&W and Pullrite. They seem to like both equally as well.
I did contact Jayco to see if I could install the sidewinder without any issues. They referred me to the dealer. The dealer is confident I will be fine. I contacted Dexter they referred me to Lippert. So I was chasing my tail for a while. Lippert didn't say no but referred me to their extended pin box! They also said that the Reese Goose box would be fine to use as well. I'm making the decision with all of that I should be fine!

Hello, I ended up with the Pullrite Superglide. Picked the camper up last Friday and towed it home after the dealer installed the hitch. It was a nice smooth ride.
