Hello from Oklahoma

I finally quit hiding in the shadows of this forum and joined.
I'm not a RV newbie, though. Camped in a little 18 foot Rockwood for almost 8 years, and this past June traded it for a new 2015 JayFlight 24fbs. It's really nice moving to something bigger that we don't feel like we in each others way, and we have room to sleep 3 of our grandchildren.

Welcome to forum... Where are you from in OKLA. We used to live in Wichita Falls TX and found Wichita MTN Wildelife Refuge at Medicine Park OK many years back. Have both tent camped and POPUP trailer camped at Camp Doris inside the refuge.

My work brought me back to the Wichita Falls TX area many times over the years and we always made time to come up to Camp Doris every chance we would get...

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.
Kellys, I figure when I quit learning, my wife will be puttin' me in the ground. LOL!
RoyBraddy, I presently live in Yukon. We haven't gone to Medicine Park, yet. Hopefully it will not be long. Heard it was a good place to camp.

Thanks everyone for the Welcome. My wife and I just got back from a week trip to Lake Tenkiller and a 6 mile float trip down the Illinois River with some of our family, which included 5 grandchildren. Even with the bad, the trip was great. Was in a severe t-storm with lightning strikes that split a tree about 60 feet from our trailer, and another one the next morning about 50 yards behind us. Threw bits of bark and limbs close to us and tripped the breaker on the pedestal. Thank God I felt the need to purchase a Surge Guard the week before. I don't know if it protected our trailer or not, but we feel like it could very well have so it was money well spent.

Thanks troutslayer, we are already looking forward to the next trip out. We just haven't made arrangements, so we are playing by ear for now.

Poppy, glad you and your family are all safe. Wife and I were in Green Leaf State Park the 12/13/14, playing in the rain. As for your Surge Guard trust me it was a great investment. I lost one inverter and the replacement cost was much greater than the cost of a protector. Anyway glad your all home safe and you all had a great time.

Thanks Bulldog. I lost an inverter about a month after buying this trailer, which is the reason I decided to buy the SG. We've been camping in a TT for about 8 years, and this was the first time we've had that problem. It may have caused me to be a little paranoid about campground electrical, but I won't be without it, now. I've seen a lot of outlets that looked like they got hot.
