Hello from San Diego

Hello Jayco Owners,

I’ll cut to the ending and let you know that we pulled the trigger last month and towed our new 2016 Jayco Eagle 324 BHTS from Big Sky RV in Bozeman, MT to our home in San Diego. We are so stoked for the future of traveling (not roughing it) with our three little kids.

Now the back story.

My wife and I have talked about buying an RV of some scale for many years. The plan always changed as our family grew. Originally when it was just her and I, we thought truck bed tent. Then our first baby came along and we considered the slide in truck camper. Then over the next couple years our sons were born. Suddenly we were looking at used Class A Diesels, still needing the ability to tow a 30′ race trailer.

Fast forward a couple years and a MAJOR change in hobbies (and purpose for the rig) and we decided a trailer was the best fit for our high altitude, mountain biking family. Fifth wheel or travel trailer, we went through that process and settled on a trailer and decided on the 324 BHTS.

After searching Nationwide for a used unit, we found a very heavily optioned and upgraded closeout 2016 324 BHTS in Montana. We loaded up the crew and did a 6 day, 2600 mile round trip to grab it. We even made a couple stops in Provo, UT and Zion NP.

Well that’s the short of it, but we plan on spending a great deal of time on the road. Looking forward to being part of the Jayco community.

Cheers,
Brian

We're off to a good start. So far after 5 weeks of owning we already have 9 nights on board. We are hoping to log about 70 nights of camping annually.

Big1,

The drive back was great and my only regret was that we didn't have time to spend in Montana. Such a beautiful place and the furthest from home so it would've been nice to stay a couple days.

We left Bozeman Saturday morning and drove to Provo, UT for the night and then to Zion on Sunday. That gave us about 4 hours Monday morning to get a small taste of Zion National Park before heading home to San Diego.

I have spent years in the drag racing arena so I already have a 1999 Ford F-350 Crewcab Dually as a tow vehicle. That made trailer shopping nice because I knew I could tow most anything. Works very well for my family of 5 and our arsenal of bikes.
