Hello from Texas

My wife laughed when we were coming home from buying our new 21QB and said "I guess this means a new forum". Guilty as charged. I've spent hours reading old threads and gathering great information. Thank you.

We are both teachers, she teaches 3rd grade, I teach high school English and coach golf. We moved up our timeline for moving on from our popup after it was totaled by a motorcycle.

Our primary trips are to national parks from Acadia to Yellowstone to Big Bend. We prefer boondocking to neighbors. We're going to miss dragging the popup down unimproved roads but are excited about a little more pampering in our old age.

Welcome. Glad to see you here. You will find lots of great people here. You will be surprised how many back roads you can walk your trailer down. It may mean either you or your wife walking ahead or behind to negotiate and navigate over and around obstacles.
Just this year I managed to drag rig up a little back road and get it well off the beaten path without any issues whatsoever. It took my hunting partners to walk the path along the trailer and stop me and direct me while I crept along in 4 wheel lo with the granny gear. slow and steady. its not how fast you get there, its the journey.

Thank you. The specific obstacle is a dry stream bed that is steep up and steep down. Length is the problem.

If your going to be in that part of Texas you need to stop in Gruene TX which is just east of San Antonio and close to New Braunfels and eat at a place called the Gristmill. It is awesome and if you like ribs get theirs but they are not on the menu you have to ask for them.

I would recommend Mad DOG PUB on the river walk. Good food and some nice scenery to boot.
