Hello from Texas

Howdy. My wife and I just bought a 2017 Jayco Eagle M-338 and are pretty excited about it. This will be our 2nd Jayco purchase, the last being a 2005 bunkhouse we sold a couple of years ago. We actually started looking for a replacement a few weeks and a week later located this one in a nearby town; we felt the final negotiated price was just too good to pass up. I've got it sitting on the driveway and am just about complete with some preventive maintenance on the electrical/ plumbing systems and cleaning of the exterior. For powering this trailer, I installed a 50 amp box on the garage exterior; I hope to have the carport erected before long to keep this trailer out of the weather. I'll say one thing, this trailer is heavy (9300# dry) compared to the '05 BH (4200#) and can definitely feel it while towing; provided I get it setup right, I'm hopeful the WDH will improve the ride. Anyways, glad to be aboard these forums and looking forward to some good reads and providing assistance where I can. Thanks!

Hello from Arizona

Howdy to you! Congratulations on the new-to-you Eagle and welcome to the forum.

With some information on your tow vehicle and the WDH you are considering, it's likely some members will have some helpful information to share.

Hello AZ, FL and WI and thanks for the welcome. Concerning the WDH, I purchased and installed a EAZlift round bar setup a couple days after I pulled this trailer home; this system is rated for 1400# tongue weight. I've read mixed reviews on this compared to other systems, particularly since I have an underslung coupler. My tow vehicle is a '15 RAM 2500 CC, 4X w/ Cummins and 68RFE auto; even with the dreaded 3.42 gears this truck has no problem pulling this trailer, nor did I anticipate any. Although I miss my '03 cummins (no-emmisions), there's little to compare to this 4th gen truck. This weekend I'll take it down the road (interstate) to see how the WD system handles and adjust accordingly.

Orange, Texas? Let's just call it Louisiana and be done with it! LOL
Hey, what kind to TV you using with that TT? You mentioned it was "heavy" so I'd guess a half ton? Just curious because I ended upgrading TV. Anyhow, welcome and enjoy the new toy!

yes, we make many trips over that Sabine river. I see you are from
Portland? I grew up in Corpus Christi and we moved to Taft when I was in highschool (dad was tired of making that drive from Saratoga lane to Dupont Plant in Ingleside!). Concerning trailer weight, I was just stating it was much heavier than the trailer I had prior. I drive a RAM 2500 (see signature). thanks
